The Scrutineer

Because everyone's a critic

All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace
The award-winning British documentary film maker Adam Curtis, well known for his previous BBC series The Power Of Nightmares and The Trap, covers familiar social and political topics with an often controversial viewpoint. Curtis’ genius lies in the judicious illustration of his films with a mixture of archive footage and obscure, though fitting, music.
His latest three-part series, All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace, first aired on BBC 2 on Monday 23rd May 2011. It claims that “computers have failed to liberate us and instead have distorted and simplified our view of the world around us”.

scrutineer n. a person that scrutinises; someone that examines with great care, especially when rigorous oversight is required.

An insight into the highly critical mind of a twentysomething man, deconstructing and analysing the world around us. Then blogging about it.
